Of everything I’ve ever made, this is the piece that I am the most proud of. It took me an entire year to finish. There are 6,080 one inch squares. The seams looked so beautiful I couldn’t stand hiding them, so in a last minute decision, I put them facing out. I love this quilt. 78” x 80”

I LOVE it that you faced the seams out!

carolinaanne said: Oh my god I love it!!!! Did you use a pattern?

I used this pattern from Moda Bakeshop. It was for a full size quilt using charm squares, so I just halved everything. Definitely recommend pressing the seams open!

As for the quilting - I just made it up as I went along!

Chevron Baby Quilt finished - made to replace the faux cathedral windows as a gift for the imminent arrival of our friend’s baby.

Surprised myself by hand quilting it - I used sashiko thread and it turned out really well. What is more, I actually enjoyed doing it.

Used the remnants of Moda “Just Wing It” from an old project.

Amy Butler Birdie Sling.
Much easier than the Sunday Sling, although it is also really really big.
Am quite proud of my neat pleats.

If only I had seen this pattern for chair socks before we scratched up the marble (shhhh don’t tell the landlord).

Have been back in Aus for a while, hence the lack of progress on any projects.

While I was there I did manage to make a “Reversible Sunday Sling” from Amy Butler for my sister (modelled here by my ice-cream bespattered niece).

I think next time I make it I will leave out the Thermolam interfacing on the lining, or try it with thinner fabrics - it all got a bit bulky. I also found the interior pockets very loose, but that could also be my sewing skills rather than the pattern.

Overall, pretty happy with the result for my first try.
